The Finger Lakes Regional Planning Committee is pleased to announce that Rochester Institute of Technology will host the 2008 FIRST Finger Lakes Regional Robotics Competition. The event will be held in RIT's state of the art Gordon Field House and Activities Center on the RIT campus in Rochester, New York.

The Lucius R. and Marie Gordon Field House and Activities Center
The Gordon Field House, a $25 million, two-story building, opened the summer of 2004 and became a signature structure on the RIT campus. Ideally situated in the heart of the campus, it is the linking piece to a complex that includes the Hale-Andrews Student Life Center, Student Alumni Union, Ingle Auditorium, Clark Gymnasium, and the Ritter Ice Arena.

The 155,000-square foot, multi-purpose facility provides a permanent venue for major campus traditions and events. Among these are Commencement and Academic Convocation, Brick City Homecoming (student, parent, and alumni weekend), concerts, guest lecturers, athletic events, and the FIRST Competition.

Features:
  • A 60,000-square-foot event space with capacity for up to 6,500

  • A 27,000-square-foot aquatics center that includes an eight-lane, 25-meter competition pool, spectator seating for 200; separate diving well, and separate recreational pool with 20 person spa

  • An 18,000-square foot, two-story fitness center
